Someone Here. 2015

Someone Here is an exploration of the permanent damage caused by human engagement with the environment.

Chile is the world's biggest copper producer. In 2015 the country produced 5.79 million tonnes.

Most of the mining industry is located in the north, around the Atacama Desert, the driest place on earth. For centuries this area has been exploited to extract different minerals. Within more than five hundred mining sites, a cemetery of plastic bottles and a pile of old tires are mere examples of the negligence that threatens the area.
